The choir

The Oldenburger Jugendchor has been a meeting place for teenagers and young adults from the city and district of Oldenburg for several generations.

The youth choir currently consists of around 30 members aged 14 and over, including school pupils, students, trainees and young professionals, who meet Mondays from 6:15 pm to 7:45 pm to rehearse together at the Helene Lange School. Rehearsals are intensified by occasional rehearsal weekends and vocal rehearsals.

The choir's regular performances include the biannual school concerts of the Helene Lange School, and the choir has also sung in the Oldenburg Gleispark on several occasions. Other traditions of the soon-to-be 80-year-old choir include rehearsal weekends in the Oldenburg countryside as well as communal activities beyond singing.

We sing both classical music and arrangements from pop, rock or jazz. Examples of our current pieces can be found on the Sing with us page. Most pieces are chosen by the choir together, and every inspiration is welcome!
